Toyota Kirloskar Motor launches new Fortuner and Legender

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) launched the new Toyota Fortuner and new Legender on Wednesday (January 6). The latest Fortuner comes with a 2.8 L diesel engine with a six-speed automatic and six-speed manual transmission with intelligent manual transmission options. It’s also available with 2.7 L petrol engine in six-speed automatic and five-speed manual transmission.

The new models sports tougher new front grille, side pontoon-shaped bumper, new headlamp design with sharp LED line-guide, daytime running lamps, multi-axis spoke alloy wheels with chrome metallic finishing.

The interior has improved suction-based seat ventilation system in the front row, a bigger smart play cast touchscreen audio with Android Auto/Apple Carplay.

The new Fortuner boasts of auto limited-slip differential – that offers power without breaking traction, variable flow control power steering – this allows customers to dynamically change steering dynamics with drive modes – eco, normal and sport. The front clearance sonar helps in safe navigation when the vehicle needs to be parked in tight spaces.

To the existing shades, the new Fortuner will also be available in sparkling black crystal shine. The existing colours are phantom brown, super white, attitude black, avant-garde bronze, grey metallic, silver metallic, pearl white crystal shine.

Our enhancements were more than just skin deep; we have also upgraded the engine by introducing a new heavy-duty Turbo, designed for powerful performance, and improved frictional efficiency,” said Yoshiki Konishi, chief engineer, Toyota Motor Corporation, at the launch.

The Fortuner witnessed demand despite the effects of the pandemic on the economy. Therefore, it gives me great pride to introduce the new Fortuner and new Legender to the ever-growing base of loyal customers in India,” Masakazu Yoshimura, managing director, TKM said.
