Asus has released a number of Chromebooks in the past, most notably, its series of convertible flip notebooks. At the CES 2021 event, it’ll be releasing the new Asus Chromebook CX9 and Asus Chromebook Flip CX5, two thin, rugged laptops meant to get work done even in harsh environments.
The launched laptops will feature the latest 11th-gen Intel processors and come with Intel Iris X graphics for an improved visual experience.
Asus Chromebook CX9 specifications
The latest Asus Chromebook CX9 is a powerhouse built for professionals. It’ll come with Chrome OS out of the box and be powered by an Intel Core i7-1185G7 processor, which will be complemented by Intel’s Iris Xe Graphics. It features a 14-inch FHD LCD display with a 16:9 aspect ratio and a 1920 x 1080p resolution. Moreover, the performance of the laptop is enhanced by 16GB of RAM and up to 2TB of storage.
It houses a 720p HD camera (with a privacy shutter), a Harman Kardon-certified dual-speaker audio, a backlit spill-resistant keyboard, a fingerprint sensor, and Titan C security that receives software updates every six weeks.
The Asus Chromebook CX9 comes with up to 66Whr battery while the ports include two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a USB Type-A port, two USB Type-C ports, a mic, an HDMI 2.0 port, and a microSD card reader slot.

Asus Chromebook Flip CX5 specifications
Asus unveiled the Chromebook Flip CX5 at CES’21 and the classy notebook comes in an immersive white color. The laptop runs on Chrome OS and features a 15.6-inch FHD IPS display with a 1920x1080p resolution and a 360-degree hinge to use in tent and tablet mode.
The laptop supports a stylus and comes powered by the Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage.
It houses a 720p HD camera, Harman Kardon-certified speakers, Asus Wi-Fi Stabilizer, Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, and Google Stadia. The notebook has a 57Whr battery that offers up to 11 hours of usage. The ports include an HDMI 2.0 port, a microSD card reader, a USB Type-A port, and two USB Type-C ports.

Asus Chromebook laptops price and availability
The Asus Chromebook CX9 will hit the market in the second quarter of the year while the Chromebook Flip CX5 will go on sale in the first quarter of 2021. The price of both of these laptops hasn’t been announced by Asus yet.
