With CES 2021 just a few days away, many laptop manufacturers have unveiled their 2021 lineups. Now, Acer too has joined the race with the news of the Acer Chromebook Spin 514 that’ll come powered by AMD’s latest Ryzen 3000 mobile processors.
An innovative variation of the clamshell Acer Chromebook 514, the spin variant comes with a similar design but with tweaked keycaps, improved durability, and Google Assistant. Moreover, it also features Acer’s variable tension hinge that can be tightened when it needs to be and loosened when it doesn’t.

Acer’s upcoming laptop features a 14-inch FHD IPS touchscreen display with a 78 percent screen-to-body ratio, super-slim 6.1mm side bezels, and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Moreover, the 360° hinge will let you use this 2-in-1 device as either a tablet or a laptop.
The notebook comes with a backlit keyboard, while the chassis is made of anodized aluminum with a stylish diamond-cut pattern on the touchpad and top cover. Acer claims that the laptop is blessed with class and durability and can withstand up to 60 kg of downward force and survive drops from heights of up to 122 cm.
The Acer Chromebook Spin 514 will become the first laptop to come with the latest generation of AMD Ryzen 3000-series mobile processors. Moreover, models with Ryzen 5 3500C and Ryzen 7 3700C quad-core processors will feature inbuilt AMD Radeon Vega Graphics. The processor will be complemented by up to 16GB of DRAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. The laptop is capable of giving up to 10 hours of continuous usage.
In terms of connectivity options, the Chromebook Spin 514 includes two USB Type-C ports that support DisplayPort over USB charging and USB Type-C charging, a microSD card reader, dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth v5.0, 2×2 MU-MIMO technology, HDMI port for connectivity, dual microphones, integrated stereo speakers, and support for Google Assistant.

Acer Chromebook Spin 514 availability and price
The Acer Chromebook Spin 514 will be priced at $479 (approx. ₹35,000) in the United States (US), while in EMEA markets it’ll be priced at EUR 529 (approx. ₹47,400). The notebook will be available in the US market starting February while it’ll reach the EMEA markets in March.
A high-end variant of the laptop will be released with the moniker Acer Chromebook Enterprise Spin 514 and will be priced at $749 (approx. ₹54,800) in the US and EUR 799 (approx. ₹71,600) in the EMEA markets. It’ll be available for purchase starting March.
Acer hasn’t officially announced any information on the launch and availability of Chromebook Spin 514 in India yet but more information is expected to come out in the coming weeks.
