Oppo Reno 5 Pro+ specifications leak online ahead of its likely launch on December 24th

Oppo Reno 5 series was launched on December 10th in China and it saw the launch of two exciting phones. Oppo released the Reno 5 5G, Reno 5 Pro 5G but kept the Reno 5 Pro+ 5G for later. The Reno 5 Pro+ is likely to launch on December 24th but that hasn’t stopped the rumor mill. The specifications of the Reno 5 Pro+ have allegedly leaked and it is set to feature a 6.55-inch curved display. Moreover, it will feature a 50MP IMX766 primary sensor and a color-shifting electrochromic back.

Popular tipster Digital Chat Station leaked that the Reno 5 Pro+ is likely to come with a 6.55-inch FHD+ curved AMOLED display with a 1,080 x 2,400p resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The device will be powered by the Snapdragon 865 SoC and is set to come with 5G technology. There is no clarity on the RAM and internal storage specifications yet, but it will be clear upon its launch.

According to the tipster, the device houses a quad-camera setup on the rear. The rear camera includes the world’s first Sony 50MP IMX766 primary sensor, a 16MP ultra-wide sensor, a 13MP telephoto lens, and a 2MP macro shooter. Moreover, it features a 32MP front sensor in the hole-punch cutout.

The new Oppo model will pack a 4,500mAh battery that supports 65W fast charging. Moreover, it weighs 184 grams and measures 159.9 x 72.5 x 7.99 mm.

Oppo Reno 5 Pro+ expected launch date

The Oppo Reno 5 Series launched on December 10th but it only featured two phones – vanilla Reno 5 and Reno 5 Pro. Reno 5 Pro+ is likely to release on December 24th. The recent leaks hint that the Reno 5 Pro+ is likely to be the first Oppo phone to feature a color-shifting electrochromic back. Similar to what was spotted on the OnePlus Concept One. It is still not clear if this is indeed true. More information about the Reno 5 Pro+ is likely to surface online in the coming days.

The Oppo Reno 5 5G packs the Snapdragon 765G SoC and comes in two variants 8GB of RAM+128GB of storage and 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The model is available for pre-order at CNY 2,700 ($410) for 8GB RAM variant and CNY 3,000 ($460) for the 12GB RAM variant.

The Reno 5 Pro 5G, on the other hand, comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ SoC. It is available in two variants – 8GB of RAM+128GB of storage and 12GB of RAM+256GB of storage. The device can be pre-ordered, at CNY 3,400 ($520) for the 8GB of RAM variant. For the 12GB of RAM variant, you’ll need to pay CNY 3,800 ($580).
