Samsung has released two foldable smartphones in its Galaxy Z lineup and according to rumors, Samsung Z Flip 3 could become the third foldable phone. The Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Flip 5G could be set to receive a successor in 2021. The device was expected to be called the Galaxy Z Flip 2 but according to the leaks, it will be called the Galaxy Z Flip 3 instead. Moreover, the specs of the Samsung Z Flip 3 have surfaced online as well.
Galaxy Z Flip 3 set to be the next flip phone from Samsung
The popular tipster, IceUniverse shared the information about the upcoming foldable device from Samsung and mentioned it as the Samsung Z Flip 3.
Moreover, the leak also suggested the device is likely to feature a 120Hz AMOLED display similar to the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 2 flagships. The upcoming Flip phone is also likely to feature a narrower frame, which means fewer bezels around the panel.
Leaks reveal key specs of the next-gen Samsung Z Flip 3
According to the leaks from Vietnamese tipster @Chunvn8888, the smartphone is tipped to come with a 6.9-inch foldable display. The refresh rate is likely to be 120Hz, which is a big leap from the 60Hz refresh rate that comes with the Galaxy Z Flip 5G. The phone’s outer display is rumored to be 2x to 3x larger than previous models. Moreover, the main display comes with thinner bezels and a small hole-punch design that houses the selfie camera.

In terms of battery specs, the tipster hints that the device could feature a 3,900mAh battery. This will be a decent upgrade from the 3,300mAh battery present in the Galaxy Z Flip 5G. You can expect better durability due to the new kind of ultra-thin glass used in the display. The leaks have also hinted at stereo speakers being included in the device in place of the downward-firing mono speakers.
Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S21 series is expected to be launched in January 2021. However, the launch of Galaxy Z Flip 3 could be delayed to summer or even September of 2021. The exact reason for the delay is unknown but it could be because of production/supply issues.
