The OnePlus 9 series is still a fair bit away as it is set to be launched in mid-March 2021, but that hasn’t stopped leaks and rumors to surface on the internet. The latest leak brings possible renders of the OnePlus 9 Pro model as well as the expected camera setup for the base OnePlus 9 model. The popular, ever-reliable tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer has published expected renders for the OnePlus 9 Pro handset on his blog. Moreover, 91Mobiles has also leaked the camera setup of the vanilla OnePlus 9 model.
OnePlus 9 leaked images reveal camera setup
Another report by 91Mobiles has revealed key camera details of the vanilla OnePlus 9 model as well as the live images of the camera setup. The live images show a rectangular module housing three sensors – one smaller lens and two considerably larger lenses. The report also claims that the handset could feature a 48MP primary sensor having a 6mm focal length and a 48MP ultra-wide secondary sensor. There are no details on the third sensor but speculation suggests it might be a monochrome or macro sensor.
In other specs, the handset could feature a 6.55-inch display similar to the OnePlus 8T. The screen offers a 120Hz refresh rate while the phone could come powered by the Snapdragon 875 chipset. The device is likely to come with 8GB of RAM and have a 5,000mAh battery with 65W fast-charging support.
OnePlus 9 Pro renders leaked online
Steve Hemmerstoffer, on his blog, revealed possible renders of the OnePlus 9 Pro model. It appears that the smartphone manufacturers have opted to merge the designs of the OnePlus 8T and 8T Pro (both released earlier this year). The 9 Pro model keeps the basic front design, comes with a left-mounted hole punch, and features a curved display. The blog also suggests that the phone could have a 6.7-inch display. Additionally, it is likely to feature a quad-camera setup on the top-left corner of the rear panel.
He also mentioned the device features a hole-punch display housing a selfie camera placed on the top-left with curved edges. There may be very thin bezels towards the top and bottom portions of the screen. The leak does not mention a lot of information about the specs. However, the upcoming OnePlus devices are expected to use the next-gen Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset.
At the rear, the 9 Pro model has a large rectangular module that houses a quad-camera setup on the top-left corner. The three sensors are present in one line while the fourth sensor sits on the side, accompanied by the flash. Its rear camera looks to be heavily influenced by the OnePlus 8T.
As for the release date, rumors suggest that the OnePlus 9 series could be set to launch in March of 2021.
