HMD Global is in the works to launch a brand new mid-range handset in India. According to the latest reports, that device could be the Nokia 5.4. Back in March, HMD Global came out with the launch of the Nokia 5.3. According to rumours and reports, it could get a successor.
As per a report by the credible Nokiapoweruser, the Nokia 5.4 is set to arrive sooner than expected. The report also hints that unlike Nokia 5.3, the upcoming handset features a waterdrop notch display and measures 6.4-inch diagonally. It is likely to come with a better chipset but the specifics are not clear yet.
Leaks hint at Nokia 5.4 being a decent upgrade on the predecessor
The latest leaks by Nokiapoweruser reveal a significant chunk of information on the upcoming handset. The device is likely to feature a punch-hole display along with a 6.4-inch display. It isn’t clear yet which processor Nokia 5.4 will be using. However, you can expect it to be an upgrade on the Nokia 5.3 that came with Snapdragon 665 SoC. The processor might feature 4GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage.
In terms of camera specs, the Nokia 5.4 is likely to house a quad-camera module, similar to the Nokia 5.3. The rear camera is likely to receive slight improvements in comparison to the predecessor.
Nokia 5.4 featuring a 90Hz refresh rate is a long shot, and the report expectedly did not mention any such information. Nokia smartphones are running behind when it comes to implemented high refresh rates in their smartphones. Interestingly, even the premium category smartphones of Nokia don’t feature high refresh rates.
Nokia gearing up to launch multiple devices by 2020 year-end
The Nokia 5.4 could officially launch with the Nokia 7.3 5G by the end of the year as long as no roadblocks pop up. The device is likely to arrive in two exciting colour options – Purple and Blue. However, the report also mentions that there could be other colour variants too although there is no confirmation yet. Its predecessor came in Sand, Cyna, and Charcoal colour options.
Nokia smartphones always feature beautiful designs regardless of their price. Even the entry-level devices don’t feel like that in terms of aesthetics. The Nokia 5.4 is likely to be yet another gorgeous smartphone by HMD Global in their long list of aesthetically good handsets.
