Micromax finally made a comeback to the Indian smartphone market on Tuesday with two new smartphones. The first one being the budget smartphone “Micromax IN Note 1” while the other one is an entry-level device named “Micromax IN 1B”. The IN Note 1 comes packed with some stunning specifications including MediaTek Helio G85, a 6.67-inch display, a punch-hole setup, a 48MP rear camera, and a lot more.

With the official launch on November 3rd, the Micromax IN Note 1 became a strong competitor to smartphones from brands like Xiaomi, Oppo, and Realme. Since the Make In India movement, consumers are more inclined to purchase smartphones from Indian companies, and Micromax stands a chance to make it big in the smartphone market and rise to the top once more. If you’re thinking to get yourself the new IN Note 1, here is a quick review of the latest budget smartphone from Micromax.

Micromax IN Note 1: Display

There is something very likable about IN Note 1’s design and display. It is neither too flashy nor in-your-face. In fact, it offers an attractive display even though it comes with a relatively large screen. Micromax has done well when it comes to providing a great display for a budget smartphone. It features a 6.67-inch touchscreen display with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and a resolution of 2400x1080p.

There is also a punch-hole in the middle and added protection via oleophobic coating. The screen isn’t too vibrant and the brightness will be adequate indoors, though it could be a bit hard to use under sunlight.

Micromax IN Note 1: Software and Performance

The IN Note 1 uses the 2GHz Octa-Core MediaTek Helio G85 chipset which is a quality SoC for the budget category. A faster CPU means a smoother experience. The chipset is coupled with the Mali-G52 MC2 GPU, which makes it a decent smartphone for playing games. The 4GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage will offer ample space for you to store songs and movies and keep games running smoothly.

The device runs on Android 10 and it’s smooth. The 5,000mAh battery allows you to play games or watch movies for hours without having to worry about charging the phone. With medium to light usage, the battery lasts for a whole day on a single charge.

Micromax IN Note 1: Camera

In terms of rear camera specifications, the device packs a 48MP primary camera with f/1.79 aperture and pixel size of 0.8-micron, a secondary 5MP camera with f/2.2 aperture and pixel size of 1.12-micron, a third 2MP camera with f/2.4 aperture and pixel size of 1.75-micron, and a fourth 2MP camera with f/2.4 aperture and pixel size of 1.75-micron while the rear also has autofocus. The quad-camera setup enhances the image quality while offering effects like zoom, blur, and wide-angle. The true quality of this device shows when you take photos in low light.

When it comes to the front camera, the device sports a 16MP camera for selfies with f/2.0 aperture and pixel size of 1.0-micron. The front cam lets you click stunning selfies with sharp and clear image quality. You can also use the camera for video calling feature for smooth, seamless video call sessions.

Micromax IN Note 1: Other features

The connectivity options on the device include 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS, USB Type-C (with support for fast charging). The sensors included in IN Note 1 include a gyroscope, accelerometer, compass/magnetometer, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and fingerprint sensor.

The Micromax IN Note 1 comes with Android 10 out of the box and packs 64GB of internal storage that you can expand up to 256GB via microSD card with the dedicated slot. It is a dual-SIM (GSM and GSM) smartphone that’ll accept Nano-SIM + Nano-SIM cards too. The handset measures 165.24 x 76.95 x 8.99 mm and weighs 196.00 gm.

Micromax IN Note 1: Price and Availability

The new Micromax handset are priced competitively, being amongst the most affordable smartphones that come with the MediaTek Helio G85 processor. IN Note 1 costs ₹10,999 for the 4GB of RAM + 64GB storage variant and ₹12,999 for the 4GB of RAM + 128GB storage variant. The phone comes in two colors – Green and White and will be made available via Micromax’s official site and Flipkart starting November 24th.
