It has been some times since the Micromax In Note 1 launched in India. Buyers are finally getting their purchased retail units and it seems that many are reportedly getting unpleasant surprises.
The Micromax In Note 1 is the Indian company’s first smartphone in months and a lot rides upon its success as the brand looks to build its image back on the Make In India narrative. And these reports are exactly not what it needs right now.
According to user reports on Twitter, some retail units of the Micromax In Note 1 show clear signs of usage out-of-the-box. For instance, according to one user and YouTuber Sandeep Sarma, his unit had excess rubber or glue stuck in an area between the display’s edges and the body. If that’s not alarming, then hear this. Moreover, the screen protector apparently had air gaps on it.

According to another buyer and YouTuber Tech Tamizha, his retail unit came with the screen on out-of-the-box. That’s not all, it also had a picture in the Gallery app saved even before the phone reached the buyer. Moreover, there was a random audio file saved on the same phone, according to the same user’s report.

According to another popular YouTuber, the charging brick showed clear signs of usage and scuff marks. Also, the screen protector was misaligned and had air gaps on it.
Unboxed my Micromax IN Note 1. Phone seems nice + bloatware free. However, QC needs to be improved. My charging brick has a lot of these weird marks and it looks used. The screen protector is also misaligned and came with quite an air gap on the right side pic.twitter.com/hclnJv2SkK

One more buyer pointed out that there was a clear gap between the frame and the display. In essence, these cases are enough to raise eyebrows regarding quality control issues from Micromax and these issues aren’t small to be taken lightly. Recently, it also came to light that the Micromax In Note 1 doesn’t support more than a two finger touch that could be a big disadvantage for buyers looking to game on the phone.
Well @Micromax__India
you need to look after your quality control. And this thing is going on YouTube soon!! The phone coming out from the frame lol Smiling face with open mouth and tightly-closed eyes #MicromaxIsBack #MicromaxInNote1 pic.twitter.com/EVgslT0b5Q— Saaquib Neyazi (@saaquib_neyazi) November 25, 2020
