Back in August, Oppo released its Oppo A53 handset in Indonesia and India and later in China. The A53 was an entry-level device that featured a Snapdragon 460 chipset, a triple camera rear setup, and more. Now, there is news that Oppo is in the works to launch a 5G model of the Oppo A53 in China and it could be launched as soon as the first week of December.
Oppo A53 5G spotted on recent listings
According to a recent listing on China Telecom, a handset with the name Oppo A53 5G and model number PECM30 is expected to be launched on December 1st. Moreover, a device with the same model number was coincidentally spotted on TENAA previously and even made it to the GeekBench listing. The device managed to score 512 in the single-core test while in the multi-core test, it racked up 1658.
Oppo A53 5G is likely to be feature a 6.5-inch FHD+ hole-punch display and be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 720 SoC. Interestingly, the fingerprint scanner is located on the side that doubles in as a power key. The handset could feature a triple camera rear setup with a 16MP primary sensor and an 8MP selfie shooter. The A53 5G will be available in two variants with 4GB and 6GB of RAM with 128GB of internal storage. In terms of software, the phone could come with Android 10 OS out of the box. Moreover, it is backed by a 4,000mAh battery backup and could come with 10W fast charging support.
Oppo A53 5G release date and expected price
As per the listing on China Telecom, the A53 5G could arrive on the market on December 1st. The 4GB variant is expected to come with a price tag of CNY 1,599 (around USD 249 or ₹18,000). The 6GB variant could have a price tag of CNY 1,799 (around USD 274 or ₹20,000). Additionally, the A53 5G could come in three exciting color options – Lake Green, Streamer Purple, and Secret Night Black.
