Asus Chromebox 4 launched with 10th-Gen Intel Core Processors

The 10th-Gen Intel Core processor is to deliver “faster, smoother and more energy-efficient performance”, says Asus.

Asus unveiled its all-new Asus Chromebox 4 in North America, as its new mini PC that runs on Chrome Operating System. The Chromebox 4 comes at a relatively low price, with all the high-end specifications that it comes with.

Asus Chromebox 4 comes with four processors editions – Intel Celeron 5205U processor with integrated Intel UHD graphics, 10th Generation Intel i3 10110U, 10th Generation Intel i5 10210U, and 10th Generation Intel i7 10510U and in addition there are options to choose from 4GB and 8GB DDR4 SO-DIMM RAM versions.

Asus Chromebox 4 also includes other versions – Intel Core i3, i5, or i7 processor and 2x SO-DIMM, DDR4 2666 memory (8GB, up to 16GB), and no EMMC option – only the M.2 SSD (128GB to 256GB).

Talking about its design, Asus Chromebox 4 looks similar to its predecessor. Chromebox 3, which comes with a Google Chrome logo in the top left corner and Asus logo in the middle.

The highlighting difference is its processors – where Chromebox 3 was powered by 8th gen Intel Processors, Chromebox 4 with all-new machine internally is powered with 10th Gen Intel Processors.

According to the company – this will deliver “faster, smoother and more energy-efficient performance.”

The device supports up to three 4K displays and additionally it comes with VESA mount with a screw-in rubber barrier that lets you attach the Chromebox 4 to a monitor to build a customised all-in-one PC-like experience.

Coming to its wireless connectivity, Asus Chromebox 4 comes with dual-band 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6, dual-band Bluetooth 5.0 support and offers two USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports, one audio jack at the side, two HDMI 1, and one LAN (RJ45) port at the back and up to three USB 3.1 Gen 2, one USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C – whose presence brings USB Power Delivery and Display Port connectivity support.

Chromebox 4 also includes a DC-in port for power and a Kensington lock for physical security. Like the other Chrome OS device, Chromebox 4 supports Google Play Store. The device also features a fan for cooling.

Although there is no confirmation on when the devices would be available in the global market, Asus Chromebox 4 which is priced at $289 (Approx Rs 21,400) will go on sale in the U.S. from December 2020.
