Xiaomi launches its first smart watch and speaker: Here’s all you need to know

Xiaomi launched a number of products at its Smarter Living 2021 event including Mi Band 5, Mi Smart Speaker, Mi Watch Revolve and more

Xiaomi launched three major products recently among other devices in India at its Smarter Living 2021 event. It unveiled its first smartwatch, smart speaker and fifth version of its popular Mi Band series. The tech giant also launched the Mi Athleisure Shoe and Mi Soap Dispenser at the event.

Mi Watch Revolve

The smartwatch has a 1.39-inch AMOLED display with a brightness level of 450 nits. This is equivalent to that of Redmi Note 7 Pro. There is an Always-On display along with 112 watch faces while the scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass will provide added protection.

The watch uses Firstbeat Motion Algorithm, which is generally used for sports and mental wellness. This will allow users to track their mental performance. Additionally, it also comes with sleep quality tracking, stress monitoring, energy level monitoring, heart rate variability, and VO2 max to measure your overall fitness levels.

The users can access the watch data using the Xiaomi Wear app on Google Play Store and Xiaomi wear lite on Apple’s App Store. Xiaomi claims that this watch will last for up to 14 days on light usage and over seven days with every feature turned on including the Always-On display.

Mi Watch Revolve’s price is ₹10,999 though the inaugural price is ₹9,999 for early birds (until Diwali). You can purchase it from Mi.com, Mi stores, or Amazon.

The smartwatch comes in two exciting colors – Chrome Silver and Midnight Black. The straps too are available in different colors.

Mi Smart Band 5

The Mi Band 5 comes with a 1.1-inch AMOLED display with 450 nits brightness and unlimited customisable watch faces. This time you won’t have to remove the device from the strap for charging as Mi has introduced magnetic. Mi claims that the battery can last up to 2-3 weeks and the band can also serve as a remote camera shutter for their phones.

With this release, Xiaomi has introduced PAI function, which is a “scientifically-validated metric that provides insight into how your exercise is contributing to your health”.

The band has 11 sports modes and auto-detection for physical activities. The MiFit App will now allow you to add friends and compete with them.

Mi Smart Speaker

Powered by Google Assistant, the Mi Smart Speaker is a 12W front-firing speaker with two far-field mics placed at the top. It comes with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity and the users will be able to pair two smart speakers and connect them to the TV to get a more surround sound feel. The multi-room setup will allow you to control different speakers in different rooms. To top it all off, it has a built-in Chromecast.
