Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3: All we know so far

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 will come with three folding screens and sliding keyboard

Samsung is coming up with yet another smartphone with its out-of-the-box innovations and design – Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. This is likely to add to Samsung’s list of affordable premium phones.

The South Korean giant is rumoured to be working on this foldable smartphone, the specifications and design details of which have leaked through a sketch of the phone. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is likely to come with a dual-hinge design, sliding keyboard and three folding screens, according to the leak. Rumour has it that the design patent was filed by Samsung Design with the Korean Intellectual Property Office in the mid of 2018.

The phone is likely to come with three displays and will have a full-screen display on the cover, according to a report by LetsGoDigital. If unfolded, the smartphone would appear like a tablet display.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 will come with a punch-hole camera placed in the middle of the display on the outer cover. On unfolding the phone, the display on the right will have another punch-hole camera which will be placed on top-middle of the display.

The smartphone is likely to feature Under-Display camera technology. According to the sketch, Samsung Z Fold 3 will have a keyboard with touch-sensitive keys, sticking out from the sides. Altogether it can be said that the Fold 3 will have a similar design as the Galaxy Z Fold 2 with an additional hinge.

The phone is likely to have an indicator that will be mounted on the hideaway hinge. This hinge will accommodate multiple light-emitting elements to indicate or notify the users about the incoming calls, messages or any other notification and alert.

This has been done because usually when the phones are in silent or vibration mode, it gets difficult for the user to know about its notification. So this LED light indicator will help notify the user.

According to the design patent, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 will come with a LED lighting strip that will give visual and decorative effects of several lights combined together, and to protect the LED lighting strip from any damages it is finished with a translucent cover.

However, this can’t be perceived as the final design. By launching Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, Samsung may be trying to improve its foldable series. The phone is likely to come by second-half of 2021 along with Note 21 series.
