Redmi K30S launched: All you need to know

Redmi K30S Extreme Commemorative Edition, launched in China, is a rebranded version of Mi 10T

Redmi launched K30S Extreme Commemorative Edition on October 27, 2020, in China. This edition is called so because parent company Xiaomi is celebrating its 10th anniversary. This will come alongside Redmi K30 5G, Redmi K30 Pro and Redmi K30 Ultra.

Redmi K30S has a side-mounted fingerprint reader powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 7nm processor which will support 5G network.

The phone comes with a triple camera setup with a 64-megapixel main camera with a primary sensor with IMX682, 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and 5-megapixel macro lens and 20-megapixel front camera. The phone supports 8K video recording that helps cover high-quality, brilliantly colored video.

Redmi K30S is basically a Xiaomi Mi 10T smartphone with the same design and rear camera module. The Smartphone will run on Android 10 based on MIUI 12, instead of the latest Android 11.

Redmi K30S comes with a 6.67-inch display with 2340 x 1080 pixels resolution with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 Protection to prevent the screen from scratches, and drop and any other moderate damages and 144Hz refresh rate display.  It has a battery capacity of 5000 mAh with 33W fast charging.

The phone supports 5G, 4G/LTE, 3G and 2G GSM; Bluetooth 5.1; and WiFi 6 802.11 ax. The headphone connector comes with 3.5mm active noise cancellation with a dedicated mic.

The smartphone will come in two variants – 8GB RAM + 128 GB internal storage and 8GB RAM + 256 GB internal storage and will be priced at CNY 2599 (approx Rs 28,000) and CNY 2,799 (approx Rs 30,810) respectively. Though in the 11,11 sale, the phone can be found at a discounted price.

It will be available in two colours: Interstellar Black and Moonlight Silver and come with a year’s warranty. One of the disadvantages of this phone can be that neither the phone is water-resistant nor is it waterproof.
