OnePlus 9 Lemonade codename leaked, launch may be in April

Tipster Max J tweeted a side-view image of the flagship with the codename Lemonade

OnePlus launched its flagship smartphone OnePlus 8T just a week ago and leaks are already bubbling up about the next OnePlus mobile. Tipster Max J has leaked what appears to be a vague side-view of the upcoming smartphone with the codename ‘Lemonade’.

He tweeted an image showing two side views of the device, which made the phone look very sleek but one can spot the usual placement of buttons on either side.

While he didn’t really share any other details while tweeting, he replies revealed some details. In one reply he said, “Its OnePlus 9 series codename thing”. When a Twitter user asked about the release date, the tipster replied saying, “I guess around April.”

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time someone has talked about OnePlus 9. A month ago, Mishaal Rahman, editor-in-chief of XDA, retweeted a tweet by an XDA forum member which revealed that there could be five variants of OnePlus Lemonade — lemonade, lemonadep, lemonadept, lemonadet, and lemonadev.

OnePlus 9: Speculations

Max J had mentioned the term “series”, which could mean that there will be a OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro. However, he wasn’t sure if the devices will have a curved or a flat display.

Being a flagship, OnePlus 9 may come with the next-gen Snapdragon 8 series SoC (most probably Snapdragon 875), a minimum 65W charging (or more), an AMOLED display with at least a 120Hz refresh rate, maybe a 64MP camera sensor, and more.

OnePlus 8T breaks Chinese market

On October 19th, OnePlus 8T officially went on sale in the Chinese market. It is the latest flagship from the popular Chinese brand and its sales have skyrocketed within no time. OnePlus saw sales cross 100 million Yuan (approx. 14 million USD) within the first 60 seconds and 200 million Yuan (approx. 28 million USD) within the next 10 minutes.

OnePlus 8T features a 6.55-inch fluid AMOLED display screen, Android 11 OS, and Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset with 8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB internal storage. The latest handset from OnePlus has been a massive success in the company’s home country.
