Apple launched its latest iPhone 12 series during its latest “Hi, Speed” event on October 13, 2020. The iPhone 12 lineup consists of four iOS 14 powered iPhones including the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 Mini. Apple also announced a new smart speaker called HomePod Mini and brought back the MagSafe charging.

Apple event: iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini

Apple launched the new iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini that feature 6.1-inch and 5.4-inch displays, respectively. Both the phones also support 5G and feature a brand-new design with flat edges. Apple claims that iPhone 12 will be 11% thinner as it has used OLED display across all the iPhone models.

Apple has made a big deal about its 5G support as the new iPhones use a new antenna system to offer improved 5G performance. The iOS is optimized to take advantage of 5G speed while also maintaining power efficiency. There will also be a Smart Data mode to switch between 4G and 5G data intelligently.

The iPhone 12 will have a Ceramic Shield finish on the front screen glass to improve the device durability, something that Apple claims will be tougher than every smartphone glass in the market and have 4x better drop performance.

The Apple iPhone 12 series will be powered by the A14 Bionic chipset from Apple, which is the first processor in the world to use a 5nm process as the new six-core CPU offers up to 50% faster performance than any other smartphone.

Both the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini handsets will use a 12MP wide camera with f/2.2 wider aperture as well as the introduction of a seven-element lens that offers better low-light up to 27%.

iPhone 12 will be available in black, blue, white, green, and red colors. The pricing will start at ₹79,999 for iPhone 12 and ₹69,990 for iPhone 12 Mini and will be available for purchase from October 30, 2020. In terms of storage, buyers can choose between 64GB/128GB/256GB.
