Google recently launched its most awaited budget smartphone – the Pixel 4a globally with a price tag of $349 (approx Rs. 24,430). It is a lost-cost device from the company designed to go up against other affordable smartphones like the OnePlus Nord. We are going to analyze both the smartphones to find out the best budget smartphone.
Pixel 4a and OnePlus Nord are both budget smartphones that lack some premium features conventional to flagship smartphones. However, both the devices are capable of offering similar performance.
To help you make that decision we’ve compared their specs and features in every key area, so you can see what’s similar and what’s different.
Google Pixel 4a Vs OnePlus Nord
The newly launched Google Pixel 4a flaunts a 5.8-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2340x1080pixels along with a support of a 60Hz refresh rate. The smartphone screen is protected by the outdated Gorilla Glass 3. Whereas, the OnePlus Nord features with a 6.44-inch AMOLED display with up to 90Hz refresh rate support and protected by the latest Gorilla Glass 5. It’s quite simple to tell that the OnePlus Nord outperforms the Pixel 4a in terms of display configuration.
On the hardware front, the OnePlus Nord is powered by the latest Snapdragon 765G 5G processor. This is not the fastest chipset in the market but it comes with 5G support and gets the work done without any hustle. On the other hand, Pixel 4a draws power from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G which is a well-versed processor, but as compared to SD 765G it feels slow. Also note, there is no support for 5G connectivity on Google Pixel 4a.
While talking about the RAM configuration, the OnePlus Nord offers 8GB and 12GB RAM clubbed with 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage. The Google Pixel 4a is backed only by 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage.
The OnePlus Nord blows away the Google Pixel 4a with the combination of quad rear camera setup which includes 48MP primary camera + 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 119-degree field of view + 2MP macro lens + 5MP depth sensor along with an LED flash. It is capable of recording slow-motion videos at 240 fps. Upfront, it houses a 32MP camera sensor for selfies and video calls.
Meanwhile, the Google Pixel 4a offers a single 12.2MP camera sensor along with an LED flash. However, Pixel series smartphones are known for their best camera performance with a single-camera setup. For selfies, the Pixel 4a sports an 8MP front-facing camera sensor.
The Oneplus Nord wins the battery race as well with a bigger 4,115mAh battery with 30W fast charging support. On the flip side, the Pixel 4a is fuelled by a smaller 3,140mAh battery with an 18W charging support. But the interesting fact about the phones are, both give a battery life of one day because the Google Pixel comes with a smaller display that consumes less energy compared to the OnePlus Nord.
