What’s New With Apple iPhone 12: Leaked Renders Suggest OLED Display

Apple will launch the next iPhone with an OLED display. The phone box won't include charging adapter and AirPods, reportedly.

Apple recently confirmed that due to a disruption in its supply chain the company is planning to delay its 2020 flagship iPhones. In the earnings call, Apple CFO Luca Maestri hinted that the iPhone 12 series is going to be available for sale somewhere in October.

“Last year we started selling new iPhones in late September. This year, we project supply to be available a few weeks later.” Apple CFO Luca Maestri said.

There is a lot of buzz on the internet around the forthcoming iPhone 12 series. Numerous leaks and renders have surfaced on the web revealing speculated design renders and specifications of the iPhone 12. Now a new purported image of an iPhone 12 has surfaced on the web claiming that the smartphone will feature an OLED display.

Popular leakster Mr White fired off a purported image of the iPhone 12 on his official Twitter handle, revealing that the upcoming iPhone 12 will feature an OLED display and the notch size remains the same without any changes. In previous reports, Apple claimed that the 2020 iPhone series will feature a smaller notch compared to it’s predecessor. The images shared by the leakster didn’t reveal any startling information, but it contradicted the previous leaks and renders.

It seems that Apple is more serious and ambitious this year and it’s been speculated that the company is focusing on releasing four well-defined variants of the iPhone 12 models. According to sources, Apple is planning to launch two Pro variants with a 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch display and two low-end models with 6.1-inch and 5.7-inch displays this year.

It would be interesting to see which iPhone model is going to gather more popularity this year. Considering the demand for the newly launched iPhone SE 2020 we can safely assume that the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 might be a big hit for the company.

The Apple iPhone 12 Pro models are anticipated to feature 5G connectivity support, the next-generation wireless technology that is yet to reach many countries across the globe. India and many other countries are still in the testing phase. Meanwhile, we don’t know how many people are still interested in the 5G network due to the ongoing pandemic.

The California-based tech giant Apple is also said to improve the camera performance of the upcoming flagship series. Though the company is likely to save advanced camera features like 3x optical zoom for the iPhone Pro models, there are reports which claim that Apple is improving low-light camera performance of all the upcoming iPhone 12 variants.

It was also reported that the iPhone 12 Pro models will be launched with 120 Hz ProMotion displays, improved and faster FaceID performance, along with the latest next-generation Bionic A14 chipset.

Leaks and rumors suggest that the company is working on the wireless charging technology for the iPhone 12 series.  Reports suggest that Apple is planning to introduce its first iPhone with a magnetic positioning feature. Basically, the smartphone will be equipped with very strong magnets that are capable of adjusting the phone automatically on the charging pad.

The iPhone 12 family is going to be the first generation of the magnetic positioning feature, the leaked images of the magnetic moulds recently appeared on the Chinese microblogging website Weibo.

Apple iPhone 12 To Skip Charging Adapter

According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 12 box will not include a power adapter. Instead, the company is launching a new USB-C type 20W power adapter which will be sold separately. Kuo claimed that iphones will not arrive with AirPods as well.

Do note that the company has not confirmed any information mentioned above. These are based out of leaks and rumors and we recommend you to take this with a grain of salt.
