OPPO watch to star Google’s Wear OS

OPPO, released its first smartwatch earlier this year and is set to launch another watch which has pre-installed Wear OS by Google Smartwatch. The watch is speculated to be launched across the globe on July 31.

The teaser shared by the company gives us a vague idea of how the design is going to be and also confirms that it will feature Wear OS instead of OPPO’s proprietary. This upgraded technology will power the watch with Google’s Android ecosystem and onboard numerous apps and functionalities, which were earlier not offered with the OPPO’s Proprietary,  ColorOS.

Until now, OPPO has not issued any specific information with regards to the watches’ hardware, but the FCC listing of the OPPO Watch reveals that it will feature a 1.9-inch AMOLED display within a 46mm chassis. It also confirms the storage configuration of the watch is 1GB RAM and 8GB of onboard storage. It is also supposed to be equipped with an in-built e-sim that offers LTE connectivity. The watch will be powered by a 4,30 mAH battery. Since the Chinese version of the watch which has been released earlier this year lasts 40 hours on regular use in a single charge and 21 days in power-saving mode. So it is speculated that the global version might have the same configuration. In addition, the watch is rumored to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2500 SoC and an Apollo co-processor as well.

According to the listing, it can track a wide range of workouts and also has an AI-based fitness regime feature. It has a sleep monitoring feature and an optical heart rate sensor that helps you keep track of your physical health. It also provides 5ATM water resistance that offers 10 minutes for up to 50 meters in depth.

Although it is not yet sure that this is altogether a different watch or slightly tweaked Chinese version. Since the Chinese version was priced at 1,499 yuan, so it is expected that the global version will be a little costlier than that.
