Nikon Launches New Full-Frame Mirror-less Camera For Fresh Enthusiasts

Nikon has officially announced its new full-frame mirrorless camera called, Nikon Z5. The new camera, to date, is the most affordable Z-series camera. It will be available in India from 27th August at the price of ‎₹1,13,995. Nikon has also announced a new NIKKOR Z 24-50mm f/4-6.3 lens for ‎₹39,995. It is quoted to be the shortest and lightest Z-mount lens the company has made so far. With this lens, the Z5 will be available at a bundled price of ‎₹1,36,995.

The Nikon Z5 inherits a lot of features from its previous series Z6 and Z7. Some of the attributes are the same as the prior cameras. The Nikon Z5 can shoot video up to 4K 30fps, but with a 1.7x crop factor or up to 1080p 60fps without any crop. Z5 also supports a 273 on-sensor autofocus system with support for eye detection AF for humans and animals. Expeed 6, the image processor used is the same as the Nikon Z6. So is the ISO range of 100-51,200.

Burst shooting speed is 4.5fps with AF/AE lock.  It comes with a new lower positioned 24.3-megapixel full-frame sensor; nevertheless, it still gets the in-body image stabilization (IBIS). It is enabled with a 3.6 million-dot resolution electronic viewfinder, and a tilting rear 3.2-inch LCD with that responds to haptic input.

Z5 has the same magnesium alloy body as the Z6 and Z7. It also provides waterproofing to some extent. The ports on the Nikon Z5 include Micro-HDMI, microphone, headphone, and USB Type-C. The latter port can be used for charging the camera, via a compatible power bank. The Z5 comes with two SD card slots, with support for UHS-II, which bumped up the speed to 312 Mb/s. This enables the user either to record to both or to have one of the cards serve as a backup. Z5 runs on a new EN-EL15c battery and is good to go for 470 shots in a charge.

Other features include a silent photography mode, focus-shift shooting for focus stacking images, active D-Lighting, and a quick-to-access settings menu. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity is available, allowing it to connect to the SnapBridge app for photo and video transfers to an iPhone or iPad. Nikon Z5 is the same size and weight, 675 grams, as the Nikon Z6 camera model. The tool is considered perfect for emerging creators as their first full-frame camera than for a professional.
